The Company

Bodewes Winches is a leading designer and manufacturer of tailor made winch systems, electric or hydraulic driven, since 1938. All systems are designed to meet the latest rules and regulations applicable for such systems. High quality- and safety standards are responsible for Bodewes’ reputation in delivery of most robust and reliable equipment, focussing on high capacity systems of approx. 100 mT or more. Bodewes Winches is ISO-9001 certified since 1991. Sales, engineering, manufacturing and after sales are carried out from The Netherlands, located along the river “IJssel”, near the port of Rotterdam.

The Track Record

Over the last decades, Bodewes Winches has built up a solid track record in delivery of winch systems to renowned offshore companies like Allseas Engineering, Bluewater Energy Services, GlobalSantaFe, Heerema Marine Contractors, Noble Drilling, Petrobras, Transocean, Saipem, Single Buoy Moorings, Smit, Stolt Offshore, Subsea 7.

The Products

A wide range of winch systems for different applications and mooring accessories can be offered:

> (Combined) Mooring Winch Systems using wire and/or chain for semisubmersible drilling units, production platforms, floating production and storage vessels, crane barges and pipelay barges.

> Abandonment & Recovery Winch Systems for pipelay.

>Offloading systems for bow or stern offloading existing of hose reel, hawser- and tugger winch for floating production and storage vessels

> Anchor Handling and Towing Winch Systems for offshore support vessels and salvage purposes

At March 18th 2008 “ B.V. Machine- en Lierenfabriek J.H. Bodewes” operating under the name “ Bodewes Winches” was been declared bankrupt. The assets were bought bij Huisman on April 9th 2008.
